Outreach Coordinator Job Description

Speaker’s Bureau

a. Responsible for the Speaker's Bureau Program. The Speaker’s Bureau programs are discussion-based presentations on a variety of women-centered issues that travel to different on-campus community groups. The bureau is designed to make the Campus Women’s Centers resources, knowledge, and expertise more accessible to the UW-Madison campus. The Outreach Coordinator and trained volunteers visit various parts of campus, such as dorms and the Greek community, to host discussion-based presentations. By request, these sessions focus on a wide range of diverse women’s issues such as body image, healthy relationships, and classism, just to name a few. This helps fulfill the CWC’s mission by raising awareness of a diverse array of issues that UW students and staff face every day and educating on ways to reduce and eliminate injustices to create a healthier, safer environment on campus.

b. This includes updating womanual and training, updating and/or creating new programs, and publicizing Speaker's Bureau to dorms, sororities, etc.

b. Outreach to other organizations: look to maintain good ties with orgs we often work with as well as branch out and co-sponsor events with orgs we have not before worked with.

c. Co-sponsoring with different organizations. Responsible for presenting co-sponsorships to the collective and working directly with the group to make sure CWC is appropriate assisting them.

c. Ensure we are outreaching to diverse groups on campus and making women identified individuals of all backgrounds feel welcome and comfortable coming to the CWC.
